Note about Black Page
I have noticed with certain “Online Drum” sites that the “Example” piece is very drum-dominated (and of course very flattering). Unless you are doing a film soundtrack (or an exercise for a drum clinic), this is rarely required in the “real” world. So, my response to these sites was to record my interpretation of Frank Zappa’s “The Black Page” simply to demonstrate that I too understand more rhythmically complex concepts should you ever need them.
I recorded this at 50 BPM. About 10 BPM slower than usual. The reason for this is because I did not learn it, I read it, (not sight read) I only used 1 bass drum pedal & do not use the size of kit that this was written for. This site, (Drummer Online) is a very “workmanlike” site. 80% of commercial recordings require simplicity from the drums, not technique orientated workouts.

All the "Examples" were recorded remotely by the musicians. I recorded the drums 1st, bass 2nd, then guitar & piano, it will work for you too.
